This 1778 Verge Fusee (chain driven) pocket watch is made of a sterling silver case with gold gild movement. Created in London England by Orpwood during the mid 1700's. The case is 48.54mm with a movement of 33mm. Still carries the old paperwork from W. Ripley & Clock who worked on the piece in the early 1800's.
Happy to say that watch does work because of the care each owner put into preserving it. This is an amazing piece of history for watch enthusiasts.
